Identify your device and use its manufacturer’s update instructions. The Google TV system-update steps below apply only to Google TV. NVIDIA’s SHIELD development resources are a separately labelled example, not downloads for an EBOX device.

How to set up IPVanish for streaming
  1. Check your viewing option. Choose the broadcaster and plan for your event or title from the viewing options above.
  2. Install and sign in. Choose your IPVanish plan, then install the IPVanish app from your device’s app store and sign in. Our Android TV setup guide explains the steps for compatible TV boxes.
  3. Choose a location and connect. Select a server in the country you want to connect through. Wait until IPVanish confirms the connection.
  4. Open your streaming app. Sign in to the broadcaster separately and open the event or title. Your VPN subscription does not include a TV subscription, sports pass or pay-per-view purchase.

Update Google TV before troubleshooting

These update steps apply to Google TV. Older Android boxes and other operating systems have their own update procedures.

  1. Open Settings, System, About, System update, then Check for update.
  2. Install any available update, then try your video again.

SHIELD resources are model-specific

NVIDIA publishes development resources specifically for SHIELD hardware. Those packages are not a firmware source for an EBOX or a different Android box.

  1. Check that a download explicitly names your SHIELD model before using its instructions.
  2. Read the linked NVIDIA instructions for that package. A developer image and an ordinary system update are different tasks.

Check the app requirements first

Compare the Android version installed on your device with the operating-system requirement in IPVanish’s official Android setup page. An old TV box may need different support from a current phone.

  1. Find the Android version in your device information and record its model name.
  2. Check the official IPVanish Android requirements before installing the app.
